Waiting

Waiting emerged from a personal experience of transition — a moment when life appears to pause, yet silently prepares for radical transformation.

During pregnancy, I experienced a double temporality: physically present in the present, yet mentally inhabiting the future. My body was already changing, while the world around me continued as if nothing had shifted. Professional movement, external activity, and career were placed on hold. From the outside, this pause could seem like stillness; internally, however, it was charged with intensity — tension, vulnerability, and a constant concern for the life growing within.

The figure inhabits this suspended state. She does not act, yet she is not passive. Her lifted gaze suggests anticipation — of light, of reassurance, of safety. The surrounding darkness amplifies the fragility and temporality of the moment.

This work reflects on the psychology of “not yet” — a space between after and becoming, where transformation unfolds in silence.
